My 28 has the 600 MHz CPU. I have the floppy drive and the CD-ROM drive. I'd like to play DVD's on her, I found the Panasonic CD/DVD drive but I don't know if 600 MHz will handle the load seemlessly. Also, where do I find these "yellow tab" batteries, and why buy it?

The Mk1 will not play DVDs without an external decoder; I tried with the Margi PCMCIA model, but had no luck. Yellow Tab refers to the capacity of the battery; the Yellow Tabs were the highest capacity released for the CF-28. As Panasonic discontinued support for the CF-28 almost 6 years ago, there are no longer any Panasonic OEM batteries that I wouldn't consider to be "iffy". Even "NIB" has been sitting on the shelf for over 5 years - 2 years past the design life of any Li-ion battery.

If you want new, you have to buy aftermarket. Go to FleaBay.

    My mk-2 would play dvd's
As I mentioned before if graphics are an issue you must move away from the mk-1

Look for a deal on a mk-3 , you have a optical drive, and hard drive caddy, and probably a good keyboard so you should have lots of choices
