I have seen several conflicting references on this site about what type of internal connection the CF-29 MK5 uses for its WWAN card. I want to replace this card with a bluetooth card but wnat to confirm the slot is a "mini pci-express" slot and not simply a "mini pci" before I start ordering parts and disassembling.

Has anyone had any success in using this slot for a bluetooth card?

    Thanks

You might want to verify that the mini pcie slot on the WWAN sled will operate the bluetooth card. I don't think they are fully functional mini pcie slots. Not all cards will actually work in the sled.

Thanks for the pointers! Any ideas on how to perform this verification? I had assumed that once I verified the physical form factor I was home free. I might just have to spring for the new card and hope for the best.....

I only know of 3 ways.
    1)someone elses experience
2)buy a card and try it.
3)get the schematics and verify that it has the complete connections.

I believe that m pcie and m pci have both usb and a full pci interface. Some devices use 1 or the other and some use both pci and usb.
I have tried to swap in different types of cards in the standard wifi socket without any luck yet.

I choose option #2. The card is on it's way and I'll post the results in a couple of weeks. Thanks for the direction.
