    Hello Again,
Really useful advice from everyone here on my last problem...so here's another!

I'm using a CF-29CTKGZDE. Am I right in assuming that these are only USB 1 equipped?
The reason I ask is that I'm having problems 'talking' to a USB MIDI interface- there seems to be a lot of lag.

So...is it possible to upgrade hardware and/or drivers on the CF-29 to USB 2?

    Any pointers/links gratefully received.
    Thanks,
    n

I am pretty sure all the CF-29's were equipped with USB 2.0 but you may need the proper chipset drivers to enable it or upgrade to the latest service pack of whatever Windows your using.

All the CF-29's have USB 2.0 on them... now the first three mks (MK1/MK2/MK3) only had the one USB port on the side of the machine and have a PS/2 port for either an external keyboard or mouse... the MK4/MK5 units have 1 port on the side and 1 on the back in place of the PS/2 port. Thus the motherboards are different and the MK1-3 model board won't fit into a chasis from a MK4-5

The proper chipset drivers are MOST DEF needed as well, just like what tough-2-go said

    Gents,
Thanks for the ultra quick replies!

Yes, mine has a single USB port on the side and the PS/2 on the back as you describe.

I'm running XP/SP-3 but have no idea how to find the correct chipset drivers you both mention....
If its any help I can list the stuff shown under 'Device manager>USB Controllers'?
    Cheers

They should install with xp sp3. When i loaded up my cf-29 the usb drivers were just there working. Now i have had problems with usb devices and drivers but they are hard to find for xp since they come pre bundled with it. My guess would be google usb 2.0 drivers and see what ya get or hit uninstall on all items in the device manager under usb and let windows find new hardware and search the net to find drivers and it should find them and load them up.

    Zippy,
You are right, no usb2 drivers needed with wxp after sp1
But you should load the motherboard drivers
