ok so I've reimaged this computer twice already and before i put any drivers on it i get the BSOD and at the bottom it says something about a Physical Memory Dump. This would lead me to believe that the onboard RAM is corrupted (lemme know if i'm wrong, once again i'm a toughbook noob). Is there anyway to reset the onboard RAM or is this motherboard toast?

Try booting with a basic configuration
    No battery
    No optical
    No Hard drive
    No add-on ram

The windows memory diagnostic boots to it's own disk that you create. The hard drive doesn't even have to be in the machine. Since it poofs out on windows start up it could be bad space on the drive corrupting files, or bad memory doing the same. You now have to rule out which one it is.

    Put in the optical drive
Boot with mentest 86 (its a free bootable memory tester)
    If the memory's ok
    Exhange the hard drive
Or list it in the buy and sell section "AS IS FOR PARTS ONLY" and I will buy it lol

    Darn it all

Save that old hard drive then
Combine it with a cf-29 that’s all banged up with a bad motherboard with a bad power jack, and missing covers
    And a bad cd drive
And a keyboard that has a few missing keys
And with a display that non-functional
    And a bad battery

    And then list it
    AS-IS for parts only lol

I read this at 12:15m here and laughed at your response so loud I just woke up my wife... Funny... But not... (I don't like clever things either when I am frustrated! Um... My wife doesn't either!)

Yes... Boot to floppy with Memtest... That will test the RAM... It will come on before the address to the hard drive!

I am looking foward to figuring out your Touchscreen issues too!

That is a common message associated with a failing hard drive. If you have another one drop it in.

I'm past the point of frustration with these things, so I just laugh at them now. (lowers the blood pressure) I just took one of the screen completely apart to clean it and check the connection and got it all back together and it still does the same thing. almost like the touchscreen driver wasn't even there. does that little board the TS is plugged into ever go bad or is there something else that usually craps out first, screen looks good

    Hey Psych0Thrasher,
If your frustrated with the thing then throw it on the ground, after all it is a toughbook and can handle a 3 foot drop. lol. But if it breaks im not responsible.

Ha! I did drop one from 3 feet up once but unfortunately it landed on my foot and that really really hurt.
