Okay, just received this mostly black TB. In the bios the unit model # is:
CF-29LTQGZBM However, underneath on the sticker it is: CF-29LTQGZBM-K
It was sold as a non touch screen with 30 GB HD. Inside bios touchscreen was disabled. I enabled it and it is working, well sorta...probably another issue however it's quite fast on the web, especially with Chrome Browser running. What's weird is the top cover is all Black. The entire unit is very, very clean and nothing missing whatsoever.
My question is regarding the Black top, and the dash-K on the sticker?
Needless to say, I powered this baby up and connected wirelessly quickly at 54 MPS-
Just wondering about thoughts and considerations on this unit...
    Regards,
    Cleve

    Hey I got it...stands for Kovert. :)
I saw something on this...RCMP? Do you want a new touchscreen panel while you're at it? Your drives updated.

BIG "hint": in colors, "K" is most often used to designate "blacK".

Offhand; I'd say it was a "Semi-Special Order" (i.e.: color change) Mk4 ordered in a blacK finish.

My guess would be that the "-K" is a Dealer-Installed Option; very probably the Stealth Black lid as K is a very common designation for Black in the computer world.

But that would just be a guess; YMMV, IMHO, SNAFU, DILLIGAF. ;)

    Thanks to TopCop too!
Not sure I like the black will give it a go...
This one has 20,000 hours on it but looks brand new, must have been on someone's desk, not out in the field.
Thanks Jeff, I'll start with the extra drive with world famous os...

I'm not sure what a "Kobe Configuration" is other than it's the configuration of a Base Model.

I'm not sure that it's designated by the "-K" but, Forum Member Comptronic works in a secret location changing factory configurations, so it should be a simple exercise to check the shared Panny data base against your serial number. Try sending him a PM. :)

Kobe is a manufacturing plant designated by the K in the serial number. xxKxxxxxxx

    I read that somewhere.
