Hi guys! For first, sorry if i write any mistake, my english it's still not 100%.

So, i am playing with PANASONIC CF-31J model, i was buy the Gobi2000 WWAN card, inserted, and, whoala, nothing. I tryed to use the WWAN.EXE or what tool is for this, and, again, nothing. I try to hack the bios - concretelly - insert the WWAN ID [No. 4] directly to BIOS. Hm, BIOS now have the "right" number. So, default value it's "255". By hack the WWAN.EXE [or other tool] i was read that the right No. it's "4". Number is set, but still not works.

So, can anybody help me? I really not want to go over 253 numbers to try what it's the right number for WWAN ID.

I will be happy when anybody can give me info. Before thanks for any replies.

For peoples who really want to help me i have one note: if u need any file/info/anything other, just write me! I will give you what u need. I really want to solve this problem.

    Tomas

There is a file you may have to run to update the bios.
spgobi2 or something like that. I am not real familiar with the cf31 yet.

Please post your full model number.
Is the GOBI card a Panasonic one?
Did you buy it from China / Ebay?

    Full model is CF-31JECAXFF.
The Gobi2000 was be buyed from eBay.
If u need, there is some identificators of my Gobi200:
MFG: Sierra Wireless, at bottom is writed QUALCOMM
    IC: 2417C-GOBI2
    10-VR173-2
    REV: 02L2

I have secondary problem, my bluetooth it's not functional too. system see it but internal diag tool in bios plus windows [incl. utilities] is unable to communicate with bluetooth. I was measured the flex cable and the cable it's okay.

The GOBI must be from a Panasonic Toughbook. Dell, Hp, IBM, Sony et cetera will NOT work.
Some Ebay sellers especially sellers from China sell non Panasonic.
Post some photos of your actual card..Someone on the forum may be able identify it.

Did you check in device manager? Are the drivers all installed for Bluetooth?

    Images attached.

I was read somewhere about "hack" when some pins are isolated with plastic tape. Did u think this may help in my case?

About bluetooth. Yes, it is in devmgr too. System show the device and the ports too, but cannot to be started. In diagnostic [under BT util. -> options -> diag] says that system cannot communicate with bluetooth. In BIOS is of course enabled. When i removed it, and started diag utility, the utility not show the bluetooth icon - he know there is[was be] no bluetooth device. Putted back - diag utility know there is bluetooth but diagnostic fail. It sounds like "i am here but i cannot communicate".

I am thinking about the PCB. Bluetooth [as-is] is connected to PCB where is connector for Gobi. As i say, the number from spgobi2 for WWANID is "4". I was writed it to BIOS directly via BIOS dump, edited in AMI utility and flashed back. Now i put back old BIOS [value 255] but still no change.

I was tryed the drivers but, ... . The card it's not in devmgr :(

    There can be two reasons:

    BIOS not enable it,
    --- or ---
i simply not have right book. On the PCB where is the card is missing some parts [like the four switches] and there is maybe seven or more spaces for antenas [i really not know for what]. I still hope that this components it's not required for working.

Here it's now 23:33, i now go to bed, tomorrow i will try to upload photo of the host PCB where is connector for Gobi.

So, Shawn, for today really thanks for your help.

Hi, have been trying to find info on how to enable WWAN (Sierra Wireless MC7305) on a CF-31 Mk4, complete model: CF-31XFLAXLM.
I have tried out the sgobi2.zip, but it does not work for this model (wrong platform), can somebody kindly point out how or where to get needed info?

    Thanks
