Hello I just purchased the cf-31 mk3 the bios reads 730hrs. One question I have can people change the total hrs. It's in great shape 12 GB ram , win. 10 vpro, gps, fingerprint scanner, mc7700 att for some card, dvd for 399.00. I also have cf-c2 mk2. I install security cameras and I'm in the field a lot I'm a fan these are the best laptops for what I do. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Why do you ask..Do you have reason to believe that the hours have been altered?

If you put any Toughbook in a freezer (must be at least -10 degrees) for 24 hours; the bios hours reset to 730.

The only way to alter the hours is to replace the motherboard or the BIOS chip.

The hours don't really make that much difference to the price of CF-31s anyway, unless it's a zero or very low hours unit. It is more about the spec and the condition.

Hours were more of a big deal with CCFL backlights, but LED screens fixed that and with SSDs now very few parts wear out from hours anymore. Some Toughbooks look brand new but have 10,000 or more hours because they were running in docks and/or left on hot standby for backup and contingency purposes, everything from military bunkers to fire engines.

I appreciate that it's when people comment and just stupidity comes out I get upset. It's like phone gangsters all talk over the phone but p2p not a thing. Thank you for letting me know.
