So below is the jumper config for the WWAN ready CF-52 that my mother has. I have put a Sierra Wireless MC5725 Sprint card in it (looks like an IBM pull actually) and it isn't working with ANY of the 4 jumper configs that is printed on the WWAN.

The laptop model is: CF-52GCMBXAM (WWAN ready model)

The wireless switch has nothing to do with any of it either. What could I be doing wrong? :help:

    NONE: 1/Off; 2/Off
    WWAN1: 1/Off; 2/On
    WWAN2: 1/On; 2/Off
    WWAN3: 1/On; 2/On

    Thanks!

    Is that the issue?
Special in some way for IBM
Does it show in the bios?

Hardware incompatibility then, maybe the wwan is panasonic specific
If one of the techs could confirm this
There is only a few members here with add on wwan modules
    Canuckcam ,Onirakkiss come to mind

Hi JB007Rules. Thanks for ur privat invitation :)
First can u tell us, which OS u are using and secondly: had u looked into the devicemanager if there is an yellow sign or an additional networkcard or an additional usb-device? And thirdly where did u get the card? Do u know, that this card is working or better had u tried actually to put the card in one of ur other laptops?

Probably u can exchange the wlan-modul with the wwan-modul to test the minimal-function.

XP Pro, no, NOTHING extra in device manager (I know for sure it should show up there but it doesn't) I got the item from eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180453886757&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I have NOT tried to put it into my toughbook because mine is a CF-30 and it goes on that proprietary sled... I guess I could try the card in my fiance's CF-19 if I get a chance...

Assuming that it works, anything else you can think of? I tried the pin trick that I figured out on the WIFI card on my CF-30 and that didn't work either...

U have to install it and switch on. Otherwise it will not work, like u see :)

No, except the value of "wwan enabled" there is nothing to see into the BIOS.

I don't even see "WWAN enabled" in the BIOS...... I've give the Wireless switch utility a shot... should I remove that piece of tape I put on that one pin or leave in on?

    Thanks

My english is'nt so good, to tell u every step :) Here u can read about it: http://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/cgi-bin/itn/toughbook/dl02.cgi?main=16957

In the description from the seller of ur card was written, that this card was produced for Panasonic, so it should work without tape on the pin. On the other hand, the card was also produced for Lenovo. All the cards from Lenovo, which I had installed into a Toughbook need an tape on pin 20...so I'm not sure about ur card.
