I have a CF-52CCABXBM with a dark display, you can just see the panasonic logo on boot.

Tried 2 known good inverters,no change. Took entire screen from beater 52G and no change.

Took screen from 52C,hooked to beater 52G and it works,52C will display on external monitor. So what am I missing, thanks for your help.

Screen brightness is controlled by pressing the function key and F2 to increase and F1 to decrease. Give this a try….You may need the hotkey drivers installed for this to work

Have you checked where the connectors plug into the mobo?

I don't like the look of the board,it cleaned up with alcohol but this is the nice one and it looks like soot to me. Just the area around the connector. The connections are in good shape,no bent pins and tight to the board.

If it gets down to it I will scrap it,I need the case and screen for 2 others.

You may have a blown fuse. You can look at the board layout and schematic PDFs and see where they are. Usually they are tiny little white boxes about the size of a match head. In the past I have found them near the connectors. You can check them with an ohm meter. In a pinch, if space allows, you could use a buss fuse of the same size. They are usually 1A I think.

-> F2 on the board indicates a fuse - it's the part with the "N" on it. Definitely worth checking. It's a 2 Amp fuse.
Are those water stains I see in the area around the usb socket?

edit... you call that clean?! :D

After seeing the picture... You can check the fuses but I think you will find you have larger issue. It looks to me like you had one or more SMD components blow up or vaporize. Something was shorted and made magic smoke....

Yep,I believe it's toasted. Already stripped for parts,I have a 52G that needs a screen just waiting for a donor,it's screen works but it has 2 big scratches in the lcd.
