I am searching for this tool for a while, as I can´t switch from IDE to AHCI on this Toughbook otherwise.
I tried to modify the Bios with AMIBCP already, but I cannot get the "debug" section to actually show up. If anybody knows how to make this happen, this will do as well.

Toughasnails wrote in another thread that he downloaded this tool, unfortunately I cannot write him any message.

    Thanks in advance!

I will look tonight after work and see if I can find it. It's been 4 years so it might take a while. By any chance do you know the name of the file ??

Another user already send me a message with download link for the file, so my problem is solved.
Is it possible to upload it in this thread, so that other people can find it?

    Hallo,
sorry that i have to bother the community as well, but i'am also desperatly searching for the satahdcm tool to maybe get my SSD running in my CF-52 mk2 Toughbook.

    Symtoms are:
Original WD1600BEVT (160GB SATA3 from what i could find) is working with no issues.
I've installed a 128GB Intenso SSD with Win7 and windows is running ok, but every time you shutdown the notebook and restart it, the BIOS will not detect the HDD (Bios say's "HDD slot Empty") after saving the bios settings without any changes it boots up fine, just this one time.

Hope i can fix it by changing the HDD setting to AHCI.

    Best regards
    Malte.

Did you clone original drive or reinstall windows from scratch?

Hi, i installed Win7 from scratch. On the old HDD there was a Windows XP installed which i also installed from scratch. I've bought the CF52 from ebay several years ago with a clean HDD so i had to install all my OS'es from the original CD/DVD.

Does anyone have another idea why the SSD is not recognized by the BIOS and can boot from after the BIOS was entered and then settings where saved without making any changes. If not doing this, the OS does not boot as saied with the message "no boot device found".

    Hmm.
Did you try Windows repair? Repair a non booting disk.
Did you re-partition the drive before the install?
What is the full model number? I possibly have another solution.

    Hi,
i did not try a windows repair so far, because when the bios has detected the SSD, windows works just fine and boots the SSD without issues.

The SSD was brand new, so it has no partitions on it. When i installed the Win7, i let the windows setup do the partitioning.

The Full model number is: CF-52GDN30AG

If you have any suggestions, feel free to post and i will try them out.
Just to be honest, i think the problem is more bios related then windows related... at least it looks that way.

    Best regards
    Malte.

    PM sent

When it boots next time, go to Windows repair and try it.
See if it will repair the boot sector.
Nothing to lose by trying it.
