    Hi all,

I appreciate that this is my first post and I dislike when people ask for things on thier forst forum posts on others that I moderate but this issue has been driving me to distraction!

I have a panasonic toughbook cf-53 jawzyf2 and i am trying to activate the wwan facility. I have come up against the optional kit configuration in the bios which keeps asking for a password that i just dont have and cant seem to find. If someone could help me with this id be eternally grateful

    Thanks in advance
    Lee

If you got the WWAN card from another brand of laptop then it will not work . Only one from a Toughbook will work.

Stay away from the ones from china. They say they will work but don't. Always ask the seller if it came out of a Toughbook before you buy it.

    Hi guys,
I have a similar problem. I put the module WWAN into the tablet Panasonic FZ-G1 (mk1), but I can not activate it in the BIOS, because menu "optional kit" is not available. Is suitable password "toughkit" to FZ-G1? The module WWAN was taken from the other tablet Panasonic FZ-G1 (mk1).
I am sorry for my English!

    Many thanks
    Andrey

    Hi all,
    A small remark...
The password touhgkit is correct! It's greats news for me. ))
When I needed to write wireless wwan id.
I compared wireless wwan id from my another FZ-G1 which has WWAN.
FZ-G1 without WWAN has wireless wwan id ff
FZ-G1 with WWAN has wireless wwan id d
I changed wireless wwan id from ff to d and all.
Now I have WWAN on the both FZ-G1.
Wireless wwan id d suit to both WWAN adapters: Sierra MC8305 and Sierra MC7710

Yes, cause it is also PCI-Express :) Had done this on some Toughbooks, but not on a CF-53. Only downside is, u can not disable via Wireless Switch Utility if u disconnect pin20. But on some cards it does work via the utility if I soldered an pull-up resistor between pin 20 and 3.3V on the card.
