That's a pretty good deal... Good eye! The caddy will cost close to that unless someone around here has one cheap.

Caddy's on ebay don't pop up very often, when they do they are usually over 100 dollars. On the last two that popped up for around 60 I got one of them and still need a few more myself. You can get the cable for a little over 20 bucks and then get a generic Gel pack to go around it. I have one set up like this and may have to do more later. If you are wanting to do some playing/testing out on this unit right away you can try the following.

1: Run linux from USB or CD/DVD drive
2: Make a bartPE windows disk and have usb for storage
3: Install linux or windows to a harddrive and get a CD/DVD drive to harddrive adapter to install it that way, but you lose the use of your internal CD/DVD drive.

(I looked and have the parts for my down and dirty DIY caddy for the cf_73 so I decided to do one up and install it. I will post a new thread on it shortly to give you a idea of what I am talking about. It will cost you under 30 dollars, under 25 if you shop around.)

Looks like the CF-73 caddy is hard to find. certainly not worth $80 and up.
But it does look like it could be easily made by the chinese or any one else handy with sheet metal and plastic molding. The original caddy has thin sheet metal enclosure with thin tabs that are guaranteed to break after a few uses. Cheaply made and not the best design. No wonder its difficult to find one used.
Has anyone looked to see if these are available from China?

That is why I had came up with that alternative. I have lately seen a few 73's pop up on ebay here lately with battery and caddy. You just have to dig though all of them. The last one the whole pc sold for around 60. So if you watch them it may take some time but you will snag one. There is one on there right now I think will go for a good price.
