I have been away for a year or so, but back again. Just purchased a CF-C1MDB01 off Ebay will get it in a day or 3. It has 4gb of ram, 2 under the key board and 2 under the bottom cover. I understand that the max is 6gb, so 4 under the cover?? Could I put more, say 8gb under the cover to give me 10gb altogether. I don't want to remove the key board at the moment until I'm a bit more confident. Thanks.

I don't have a CF-C1 but 4GB is the max under XP and W7 32bit unless it has 64bit.
-
Sorry it has Windows 7 64bit

The ram is not under the keyboard, when you get it you will see the second ram stick but you can't replace it without disassembling the entire unit. So 6gb is it if you add a 4gb stick. Its a real bugger to take apart.

other than the "numbers factor" , increasing the ram from 6 to 10 gigs will not be of any benefit to the average user .
a way to demonstrate this is to run all the programs you would normally run and then : task manager/performance/resource monitor .
open the "memory" tab and this will show you how much ram is being used in total and who is using what . -
Thanks Guys, I just wanted to play and "make it my own". I have fat fingers so not good at the fiddly stuff. I will try that CWB32.
Nice to see a fellow Brit in the US. -
