Hi
I have a cf-t1 which is getting on a bit now but has started to freeze up for about five seconds then continues as normal, it does randomlly whilst in windows and not any particular program. Running xp pro all up to date, not long ago reinstalled, I been told it may be overheating but not sure about that, could it be hitting a bad sector of the hard drive?
Any ideas?

Had u tried checkdisk and defrag? For me it sounds like an harddiskproblem if windows will swap the memory....

Bad hard drive 100000% sure! I've seen this hundreds of times throughout my career in the computer industry! replace the drive, wipe/reload XP and you should be good to go. On a side note if you listen very closely with your ear pressed up against where the hard drive is you might be able to hear abnormal noises, (sounds of repetitive/steady clicking.)

What does it mean when I hear "HELP ME... GET ME OUTTA HERE!!! DOES ANYBODY HEAR ME!!!""???
Should I be spooked? -
