That D1 looks nice, but it's 2.5 times heavier, it's three times as thick as the A1, and most likely four times as expensive as an A1?!
I like the idea, but overall it's just the same dimensions, weight and performance as my CF-19, but the CF-19 has a keyboard, display is at least 6,5 times as bright, pcmcia/ex and takes SD-cards (instead of the micro's on the D1).
I'm not sure why you would choose a D1 over a 19. But perhaps I'm missing the point. Wouldn't be the first time :D

The CF-D1 is about an inch thick all over, Core i5 chipset (2.5ghz processor with 4gb RAM), all the usual PC stuff (PCMCIA/ExpressCard, USB, optional 3G, Serial port, VGA port, SD slot, etc etc).

Nice widescreen display - not the same as a CF-19. The D1 has a 13.3inch widescreen display vs a CF-19 10.1inch 4:3 display if I remember right A slightly heavy, but well-powered and nice tablet

on the dutch spec sheet the D1 is amost 2 inch thick, 46mm!
But your are right about the usual pc stuf.
weight is 2.25kg, which makes it a hefty one. I'm pretty sure this isn't my cup of tea, but I would love to see one in real life and play a little bit with it.

The D1 is a big tablet and the Dock for it is even bigger.

As of now, there is no set release date for it.

    Rob,

Shouldnt they be consulting you before they build stuff like this, what the #$%^ are they thinking !

You need to start a thread, your exact specs on the ideal Rob toughbook, and then we need to send it to them.

Common on, help them out of this rut....
