Obviously it does have a DVD drive as it is shown in the bios and all W models have a built-in optical drive. The seller may not know how to use it or it may be broken.

    caveat emptor :D

It has factory dvd drive, model looks original, BUT it is either a early W5 or has had it's lid swapped from a W4 or T4 as it doesn't have the lid for WWAN as most of the others in the 5 series has.

You do have to hold the eject button for a second or two. It may be stuck, I had to take apart a W2 before to get it to work right, some one had put a longer screw into it at one time and it stuck into the dvd drive scratching the disks. Putting a shorter screw in fixed that problem.

They are very nice units as I have two of them. Personally I like the CoreDuo model with the duo 1.06 it makes a world of difference than the core solo 1.2. but if you don't need big processor they are fine. This models is still fanless. The 6 series was only in the Lets Note series use skipped from 5 to 7 series and the 7 series up has a fan. Very quite and light weight.

I was not sure if this one had a duo core or single as you reference the bios reference "confused Me" I guess your saying this one would be a single...But has duo "sticker".? Without wifi? The PDF brochure lists Wifi & Duo as standard but like said earlier - earlier model may be?........ I could not come up with a google results of the complete with # CF-W5LWTSZBM

The seller isn't very helpful .......Though we are emailing back & forth

    Thanks on any thoughts

All of the 1.2 on the 5 series are single core all of the 1.06's are core duo. If it has a duo sticker on it, it may be a pieced together unit. It should have the slot for wi-fi just the card may be missing. It's going to be one of those you don't know what you are going to have things unit it's in your hands.

@ Ador that makes sense- I think it is a "Frankenstein" too...

Buying would mess up a "C note" so I think I'd be better off shopping for the Duo core in one...

    Thanks !

The 5 series is the first one with the dual core. 4 series looks just like it but are only single core. I still see T5's dual core pop up on there cheap. Some times the touch is the only thing bad on them. But unless you are in a hurry keep holding out for what you want so you can have the internal dvd drive. I think that is more useful than the touch on these models. (JUST A FYI, I haven't done it but have seen talk of replacing the W model screen with T model screen to add touch to the W model. The touch is usb so you just tap into a usb port and use the right drivers. Maybe a later on mod)

Now this is a newer W series as I have seen a lot of the 7 series models on ebay lately. I am guessing there bussiness service life is considered over and time for the new model. Not a bad price. Has everything even the charger.

    195 with free shipping.

Cheaper than the 250 I paid for my first W5. I got the last one for around 150/160.

BTW, the biggest advantage of the w7 over a w5 is that the w7 uses sata hdds.

However they have Euro layout keyboards. I would want to change to standard US layout. I understand from posts on this board that it is not straightforward to replace keyboards on these units especially without destroying the water resistance of the unit. Is it possible to swap out individual keys without removing the keyboard?
