Hello, i'm looking at a cf18 here and i was wondering what's the difference between cf29 and cf18, of course the 18 seems to have a better screen, and is lighter that the 29, but what the prestactional difference ? Is it smart to leave a 29 for a 18 ?

    CF-18 is a transformer :)
It's smart to get rid of both and buy CF-19 :))

If you have the money they are the way to go. I got a CF-19 Mk1 and Mk2. The girl friend was just upgraded to a Mk2 with Intel SSD and Windows 7 64 bit. I haven't got my Mk2 up and going yet. It has a busted screen.

yes i know but 19 are still quite expensive in this side of the globe, 18 will be about 300€ while 19 will be 900€ not a small difference, so i think that 18 is all i can take with my poor student budget.

I bought my CF-18 on Marktplaats (dutch version of craigslist i guess), for only 150 euros 2nd hand. Including a nice battery thats lasts for 2 hours. CF-19s are indeed a bit more expensive, and if you realy have not much money... then you have little other choise as to go for da CF-18.... or CF-29..

I think it sucks for you guys over seas on the pricing. I would probably still be on my CF-28.

Good god! Yep, it would be very hard to do toughbooking like I do. I guess I need in my travels over seas just put a sign on my back "selling cf-XX" as I walk through the airports.

If CF-28's sold for that over here I could get a crate engine for my 52 Ford, considering how may I still have left.

How much would a very good looking mk2 be, with shipping, 25%import tax and then 21% vat?
That's what I pay when I buy from outside the EU :(
I've seen a brand new in box mk2 and they asked 1600 euros ex vat and ex shipping for it. And with vat at 21% that gets pretty expensive. Was really brand new btw, 0 (zero) hours in it, wrapped in plastic, just for service-direct-replacement purposes. But hey, this is a Panasonic, no need for repairs or direct replacement fs :) they had three of them btw.

On shipping over seas how do they do the value? Say it was non-working or parts units? By what an invoice says or ????

When you ship overseas you must fill out a postoffice form for customs with the total valve...cost of item and shipping.
