Hey guys,
First off I would like to say Hello! I am new to this forum and the Toughbook world. I own a cf30mk3 as a personal laptop, I have a cf30MK3 installed in a work vehicle, and am currently trying to fix a friends CF-19 MK1.
The problem is the touch screen does not work, and the function / hot keys do not work on the keyboard. My understanding, is that this is a driver error and I jut need to install the correct driver and TADA it will work.
Run down on the CF19 MK1:
Windows 7 Ultimate
160G hard driver
CF19-CHBAXBM
I've been reading this forum for the last several hours and perhaps I have just gone star crazy and skipped over the obvious answer.. Any input or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
Cheers,
S

CF18's and Cf19's are extremely difficult to get the drivers all installed and in the correct order.
I highly recommend getting the Panasonic recovery DVD.....
Forum member Rob can help you out.. -
Thank you for the quick reply.
How would I go about messaging member Rob?

Stupid question.... How do I PM him?.... I have also read that Hearland Services is a place I can purchase this CD? I am located on the Eastern Seaboard (Nova Scotia Canada) and would love to get something more local if possible.

You need 5 posts here to be able to PM.
2 more to go.
Don't worry about your location. He has that handled... -
I'll bump this one more time haha and then I'm set!
S
Do I have to be his friend to PM him? I do not see the option anywhere on the link you provided me with. -
No you can just PM him...
It may take a few minutes for the forum to catch up and enable PM's
I sent him a message for you.. -
Thanks a million Shawn.

I did try to upgrade the BIOS, but I got as far as safe mode with command prompt and then I kept getting this problem where it said the battery was to low even though it was being charged and was not near low....Where can I find the step by step for doing this? I have read a bit about it but do I need to downgrade to XP for this to happen then back to windows 7? If I do downgrade to XP I may just leave it at XP... Thoughts comments?
Thanks thus far guys.

The Panasonic site has detailed instructions.
You must have the AC adapter connected.,
Probably want to boot to pure DOS if you can. -

Many times. I have deduced that you are somewhere near Calais. My mother was born and raised in Wolfville.

So I have used the recovery CD for my cf-19 MK1. I was prompted with two options: 1) erase the whole HDD or 2) re-install XP pro. I went with number 2. This will ask me for a CD key though will it not? I am a bit confused.
Any insight would be appreciated.

So I recovered to XP Professional, touch screen still does not work but function keys do...

Sounds like the touchscreen may be bad....
What is the BIOS version number?
Is the touchscreen enabled in the BIOS?
Is it called a Touchscreen or Tablet in the BIOS? -
Not the most computer savy guy on the east coast here haha.

There should be a shortcut to Panasonic Information viewer......
