Any CF19 MK1 w/ Digitizer users runnning XP with SP3. Everytime I upgrade to SP3 or latest Hotfixes I get either a Blue Screen Stop Error 8e or restore back a little and end up with being able to boot to Desktop but the 1st I run will hang (can't close even with Task Manager). I can open the App again and it runs fine. Shutdowns will not succeed. I ran the BIOS PC Diags and everything passes. Performed Recovery and stopped Automatic Updates. Have since installed 320G Drive. Waiting for my 4 Gig RAM to get in and install to try moving on. I could just install Vista Ultimate but I hate Vista. Anyone get Linux completely and successfully installed in one of these? Or how bout OS X Leopard?

    Thanks,

    SIN

Download and make a bootable cd with memtest86+
That will check your ram, thats most likely your problem

Thanks to all the feedback. Well........In my quest to narrow this down I have noticed the Recovery Pro 6 is crap........and a incompatibility between Avast (Antivirus) and Comodo (firewall only) software. It's running with all updates and am using it now..........what a pain. I appreciate the suggestions with memtest. I pretty much had concluded Ram or HD.........now its just software incompatibility.......trust me.....everything I loaded I created a restore point to roll back to which led me to the items above.

SP3 is fine with me Toughbook.

Thanks for the hidden Service Manuals here so I can make some upgrades.

Update. Everything is working. Not opting for Recovery Pro. Disabling the Antivirus for insatll of Firewall took care of Firewall (Comodo)/Antivirus (Avast) incompatibility and resulting Blue Screen Stop Error 8E.

    Got this message from Panasonic.

    Scott,

We haven't officially tested with SP3, so it's possible that the SP is causing this issue. (Running for me now)

You can try either rolling back your system or uninstalling it and see if you have the same issue.

Recommend anyone with Windows Platform issues to try using Sysinternals Tools. I have used them for years.

Recommend BlackViper.com site for Registry Files for disabling unneccessary Services in XP or Vista.
