    I'm interested in your
    Code:
    lsusb
    and
    Code:
    lspci
also here's an interesting bit re: Belkin. The comment about dropping one version in favor of another caught my eye.
howto: Belkin F7D1101 with RTL8192SU from staging - Ubuntu Forums

O.K. what I'm wondering is does the CF-27 support USB 2.0. and added to that does that relate to the pcmcia?

    Blissfully yours,

    Jeff ....ignorance is bliss... :)

Edit: Here's a quote for you....
    Not enough horse-power???? FWIW

Would you mind running (sudo lsusb -v) Gives more information on USB devices.

You found a couple things to research in lspci. RL5c478 for one. Intel 82731 for another. Are these the latest versions.
I'm guessing the PII is Pentium 2.

I'd say it's a toss-up between compatibility and hardware failure. Does the PCMCIA run anything else? Here's a bit of verification of our methods to this point. Note the section on Belkin.

For your info here is lsusb from CF-30:
edit: Your rl5c478 is mentioned here: http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ftp/doc/PCMCIA-HOWTO-1.html

yes my CPU is PII, the sudo command does not get recognised for some reason in lucid puppy 528. I have only just started paddling around in CLI pond so it could well be some thing I am doing wrong. Any way thanks for bearing with me on this.

Remind me what OS puppy is based on somebody.

Someone else running PuppyLinux jump in here.

Did you try lsusb(space)-v without sudo?

Did you max your ram? Just thought of this one...duh on my part...

Jeff...we'll keep messin' with it... :D

I need to try Lucid Puppy on my CF-27 but first I need to locate a new HD to motherboard ribbon cable.
