Hi... i'v got a cf28, again... yes it's a 28's fever... I was wondering if it is possible to remove the transflector layer from the transflective screen, i sectioned another non working screen, and the "semi-reflecting films are two between the backlight films and the glass substrate, they are not glued, just fitted one on the other, so with an opened screen is possible but... is it possible to open a screen without making it useless ?

This is because the transflective panel is very poor in color, expecially on the red/orange side, and i readed soewhere that this is due to the transflector light polarization, so anyone done this before ? Otherwise, is it possible to switch the panel with another one without transflective ? I mean not hte 13" 1024x768 but the 12" 800x600 panel.

I have not tried removing the transflective panel. If you try be sure to let us know.

But I did try putting a 12" transflective on a 13" standard model. There is a jumper on the motherboard to change the display size. I was able to switch to 800x600 for the 12" display, but it was not in the center. I never got it right.

teo is the hardware master :notworthy:

I removed the two transflector layers successfully, but the colours remains poor and washed out, the sunlight ability in no longer working , i plan to put the layers in the screen of course, this was a microsurgical operation, there's a very high risk to break the ccfl lamp and the glass when reassembling the layers, and the flat control arrays are very easy to untape so... don't try it at home.

At this point i think that i should take a 1024x768 13" panel, can you point my hand in the right direction to find this jumper ?
