So, before I go out and purchase a car charger for my ToughBook, I wanted to ask you-all as to brand/model etc. I would hate to purchase a generic Gator Crunch or something else and regret it later. Please chime in as to your suggestions, I'd appreciate it very much! :)
    Regards,
    Cleve

I use an IBM one. Actually I have about 6 of them. House / car /hi amperage.etc...

Make sure it is 16 volt as some newer Thinkpads are 19 volt.
    p/n 02k6661 is a good one. 16v at 4.5a

Lind Automobile Adapter Model #CF-LND80S-FD is what I have,
    5.5A output.
    Others have recommended this too.

If you are going saying the above mentioned IBM ones are good. They are a two in one. Car end and wall end. Also search for LIND charger. I have a few and they are of very good quality. Just make sure all the cables are with it.

Rob sells used Lind adapters for the new toughbooks (the yellow tip). Great price. I have bought some and they all have worked well.

I have a small inverter I used to use with a Sony 19v and its normal mains charger in the car.
Not a bad solution and the invertor has other uses too - an angle grinder is good at unlocking wheel clamps for example :D
Keep forgetting to take them out of the glovebox...

I have the IBM, the Lind and a few others, by far my favorite is the lind.
It's solid, and can beat the crap out of someone if needed..
Replaceable fuse.. Very nice all around..
And that LINK you looked at... Those prices are OUTRAGEOUS!!
You can get them MUCH MUCH cheaper elsewhere.

Thanks again for all your thoughts. I posted the official link above to show what each part number from Lind provides, and what machine it will work with. I found a New In Box Lind for $35 and wanted to make sure it would work for my application before purchasing it. The part number matched my application and I just ordered it.
