You can't repack a Toughbook battery unless you can reset the controller chip inside the battery.
Maybe buy a new battery and use a flasher to copy the chip.
Then reprogram the "bad" chip when you swap the cells out.

Yis, I know the chip won't reset. I suppose I should have been a little clearer.

Are those cell probably ok to use for not panny packs?

Are you sure of the cell type in that battery?

Difficult to know the actual quality of the cells without seeing the cell itself. They could be any brand.

SO, I cracked it open and it turns out they are Samsungs.
    inr18650-15l m sdiem 120 - Looks like 1500mah LiPo's?

I have a couple dead panny packs that haven't had the battery calibration ran on them, I was hoping to re cell one of them and give it a shot.

I know enough to know this all should work, I'm just looking for someone who *knows what they are doing to say "yes, it should work, and you probably won't blow something up if you assemble it correctly."

You will need to reflash the chip in the battery.
The chip also reads recycles and age. Without flashing the chip, the battery will perform the same and last the same as it would with the original cells.
