This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     So Device Manager says I have three Com/Rs232 Serial ports.

    Com1, Com2, and Com6.

    The Agere AC97 modem shows up as Com5, and queries properly.

    I removed the entry under Device manager/Modems for the Sierra Wireless SB555 modem and attempted to redetect the hardware. No new hardware was found, so I guess this modem was either removed or an external device.

    The rear DB-9, I assume is Com1. Where are Com2 and Com6?
