    Hello all,

I am considering buying a CF-19KDRU66M. From what I understand its 1.2ghz, 2gb ram, bluetooth, GOBI3, 2mp webcam, dual touch.

    Does this model have WWAN?

It is advertised as good condition with low useage hours (250hrs with bios screenshot). It doesn't come with hard drive, caddy, or AC adapter, rest is included.

I was planning on upgrading to an SSD anyways and upping the ram to 8gb as I want to do some video editing on the go.

Any downsides to buying without the HD carrier? It seems they are readily available on ebay.

Oh last question, do the toughbooks use generic laptop ram or is the ram specific to the toughbooks? Thanks for the help.

Screenshot-1.png Check Crucial brand web site for the ram.

TRIED TO DELETE THIS WITH NO SUCCESS. MY APOLOGIES.

    This is what you have

It's not really much of a webcam since it is mounted on the bottom where your memory cover would be. You will not be able to upgrade to 8GB memory because the webcam is mounted where the other stick of memory would be

can the not very useful camera be removed and a replacement standard blank cover be used to allow the extra ram space? Can't be much cost for cover i'd guess. Otherwise you can still replace the one stick with a 4GB stick at least. Anyway it's a nearly new fully loaded MK3 and i'm loving mine so if the price is right i say go for it :D

Sorry no, you can't get that space back. You will have only one slot for ram on that model, so you can put one slot with 4gb.

    19mk3 uses DDR 2 ram (PC2-6400 800Mhz), not DDR3 (that's for mk4+).

    on a side note:
Interesting, I also found one post by someone who installed 4+2GB on his 19mk 2 - the BIOS will only report ~3.3GB, but modern OS's will see it full (i.e. Win7x64 - full 6GB), so it may well use 8GB - see http://forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic/636918-unusual-cf-19-a-3.html#post8317208

Remember...this member's CF-19 has a camera on the back where the 2nd memory stick would be so he is limited to 1 - 4GB stick of memory . That said I think 4GB of memory is lots and will run anything you throw at it...8GB is over kill.

We all have this problem...that if we can put 4, 8 or 16GB of memory in our Toughbooks we will but do we need it...NO but we still will because we can. In my CF-52 and 53 I have 16GB installed in both of them. Why...because I can , not because I need it...4GB would be fine for what I do.

Is there a reason a single 8gb strip couldn't be used? The camera does seem useless in that location so maybe I'll go another route.

The camera is for industrial use.

I haven't looked to see if they even make a 8gb stick of ddr2 200 pin memory.

Can the screen on the cf19 be turned fully around? I've never owned one but if you can at least have the camera pointing at you well viewing the screen in some way it isn't completely useless.

The CF-19's are tablet-convertible laptops. The screen can rotate 180 degrees, laying down over the keyboard. That would be when you use the camera, as I see it. The camera will be pointing away from you, in the direction you look when looking at the screen.
