The company I work for has about 100 CF-19 MK3 touch's and we want to "convert" them to dual touch ( touch and digitizer ). We were able to switch from them from touch to digitizer by swapping a CF-18 digitizer LCD screen. It works... But we want dual touch.. Can anyone help?

CF-19MK3 can be converted to what you want. It started on MK2 that ts model can swap with digitizer model with no problem as long as they have their oem harness or modified. If I were you, I will not change the LCD panel of the MK3 coz It has an LED backlight which has brighter screen up to 1,000nit. What you only need is to provide an oem dual touch LCD harness for MK3 and replace the existing one then add the Wacom digitizer panel at the back of the LCD. That's it! you have a dual touch LCD. The wacon digitizer panel is usually scattered on ebay very cheap. The harness is available at heartlandsi(Panasonic authorized distributor of Toughbook parts and repair services). Good Luck

ohlip, Thank you VERY much for the tip... We couldn't find any CF-19 wacon digitizer panels and wacon digitizer cards..That is why we used CF-18..but we'll keep looking.. BTW..you mentioned "modify the harness"... We tried modifing the CF-18 wiring loom and we couldn't figure out the wiring... What wire goes where... Do you know the wiring "schema"? If we can figure out the wiring loom...we can use the CF-18 process. As a "newbie" i don't know if it would be inappropriate to offer compensation for solution?

The best thing you can do is buy one harness at heartlandsi as a reference/model and then from there you can do all the rest to rewire. I have lost all my note sometime I think 3 months ago. I've guessed my wife think its a piece of garbage. Anyway, I think i still have complete 5 pcs of those digitizerer panel. I will look on it and let you know. Its almost the same the one use on CF-18. they just remanufacture with slight diference on the cf-19 but they have the same function. It is ttached to the back of the lcd by an adhessive on the side frame of the LCD itself thats is why its easy install and to reinstall.

Hello, what's the digitizer panel name/model number? I didn't find in on Ebay...

I'm in Italy, I think that it will be very difficult to find it in Europe.

I know this thread has been quiet for a while, but I'm curious if this was actually accomplished.
I'd like to do the same thing, and I want to know if it worked and if there is anything that created issues.
    Thanks!!

Thought I'd share my findings on this.
It can't be done on a cf19 mk3 using a cf18 digitizer panel, I thought to give it a go with a mk3 touchscreen I have got and my pile of bits from other cf18s and 19s.
I took the screen back off both my mk3 dual touch and touchscreen. The wacom digitizer panel is different to the cf18 one and also on the mk3 dual touch the touchscreen pcb is incorporated on the wacom pcb.
I have a spare mk3 dual touch harness which will connect to the cf 18 digitizer panel but then you have no connection for the touch screen pcb so it will just convert it to a digitizer.

See my answer to the other thread, You've not mentioned that the inverter board is also incorporated on that one board only.

Sorry to bring back an older thread.

I just picked up a CF-19 MK4 for a good price with a touchscreen. I want to confirm, if I want to add dual touch all I need is the wacom digitizer panel and the MK4 dual touch harness?

I don't need the digitizer board?

You will need the board that is attached to the rear of the digitizer panel...shown in this photo...

I do have a parts CF18 that still has a digitizer in it......Send me a PM if you're i interested....
