I was recently offered a bunch of broken CF-52 units that I never even knew existed.
I knew there were some fabled special-order CF-31 units out there with Core i7 processors but I had never heard of a CF-52 with Core i7, especially one with an i7-3520M. I thought the i7 sticker on these units was a prank because the CPU ranks higher even than a CF-54 MK2!
These particular units come with USB 3.0 and Radeon HD 7700M dedicated graphics.
Some of these units have broken backlights but others seem to have more serious graphics issues.
Is there a market for these units, would it make sense to get some of these repaired?
I managed to get one working with 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD and it's probably the fastest I've seen in my 15 years of using Toughbooks...

Never heard of a CF-52 with i7 cpu, my mk5 had a i5-3360m with radeon 7750m and usb3 ports. Can't wait to see more info about this special one.
Core i7-3520M in a CF-52 - Worth the hassle?
