What exactly does that mean? I just purchased a Cf-19 on ebay with this in the listing. I won't get it til friday. Will I have problems or is it just some minor bios stuff. it seems new in box and have purchased from this seller before with no problems.

It probally has a BIOS that defaults to different settings than the normal bios. Can you get the exact version and I can say if its a Panasonic custom bios or not.

That is a custom configured model number, I cannot decode it at the moment, but if someone else cant do it I can in a couple of days. My main machine went down so I am posting from an old desktop. all files are on my main machine.

another question is the emissive keyboard (chiclet) type I have on my current CF-19fh***** compatible with the MK4 model? thinking of switching it out. considered buying new but they seem to be kinda rare right now. How bout the hard drive caddies I have an extra one will it fit or did they change the caddy shape between MK2 to MK4 gen?

According to Toughdepot the caddy will fit all the CF-19 and the same for the keyboard too.

I bought a CF-18 rubber keyboard "by accident" and it does fit the CF-19 mk5. So no problem there.

The M60 designates a custom bios. I got no idea what is customized.

yeah I need to compare it to my other CF-19,but that is a Phoenix bios I think it is an MK2 model. the bios itself appears the same except for concealed mode, but I figure all later toughbooks have it. Won't know later til i get home. and compare.

well I can't find anything different. I am not too familiar with this bios however, the one on my MK2 is older and way different. tested it out a little bit with the included drive and nothing stood out as different. I then wiped the drive to do a fresh reinstall and noticed seller shipped wrong restore disc. It was for a CF-31 MK1 now I gotta wait for right one in the mail. I took that as an excuse to go ahead and order a SSD. :p .
Does anyone know if the recovery disc formats the disc correctly (trim, etc.)? This is my first foray into SSD's but with the price of hard drives almost double with that flooding in Thailand, it wasn't that much more expensive than the WD scorpio black I was thinking of putting in there anyway.

The restore disk will install the OS but really the rest is up to your...W7 has Trim support. The SSD you get should have a cd/programs with it . My intel SSD came with a program called "Intel SSD Toolbox. Check this out The SSD Review SSD Optimization Guide These guys know SSD.

Another thing to note is if you use Readyboost it is disabled when using a SSD.

well after using it for about a week or so (SSD's are way cool) I can't find any difference. The only thing I noticed was that there does not seem to be an option for WWAN if I decide to add it in.
I seem to recall that you have to add it yourself in the BIOS though so don't know if that was the custom part of this BIOS
