Sorry, mate. That one's on me. Opera decided to shrink it to 500 times something.

@ares93, It's not your browser, it's posted as a thumbnail. Let's you read the post without scrolling back and forth. I suspect there are not a lot of people on this forum who are using wide screen monitors.

Do the Custom Toughbooks GPS kits (been contemplating one for my CF18 for a while now) have the provision for connecting an external antenna somehow?

If a system is vehicle-mounted, using an external antenna clear of the metal roof will give faster and more accurate position data.

The one I have does not. He has some that are different than mine so it might be a option, not sure.

Its pretty simple. Here is the attached guide for you to have an option for an external antena. The 18 and 19 are standard with two antena connector intended for a passtru connector with the docking station. Just hardwire directly the WWAN antena cable to the module to freeup one antena connector or the WLAN. Its up to you which of the two that you want.

It can also be apply to CF-29. You just need a long jumper wire If you install the GPS on top of the battery bay area.

This is STANDARD to my mod since last year coz most of my customer use a docking station with an external antena into their vehicle or boat but it doesn't necessarily coz the toughbook pick up a signal reliably without those external antena.
