Do a search for installing the DVD in the CF-28... I did a little tutorial on it a while back. It should be the same thing for yous I would think. You need to short 2 pins to make it a master.... I also have a downloadable form that I sell on eby if you can't find it... I'll give you the link... But please try the search first... The link is on my other laptop...

    Hi,

The cd is not mounted in a caddy, you can plug it directly in the side of the notebook.

the connector is mounted on the MB and i did not see any possible place to make the bridge. :mad2:

So if any wan has a old DVD/CD-RW that is set to master, i am happy to buy.

Ewwww... Yucky. Sorry; we didn't mean to mislead you. We though it just used a DIFFERENT kind of caddy from the 28/29...

I'm out of ideas... unless you can luck out & find a jumper pin or solder pads on the DVD drive itself...

    There I go THINKIN' again...

hi denrosten, if you install cable select(csel) drive you will wait on boot up, but windows will reconize it and use it. you will have to install drive with firmware set to master. i bought a panasonic UJ-846 dvd/rw/dl installed in cf-48 and boots fast. got the drive at centrix-intl.com http://www.centrix-intl.com/details.asp?productid=4153 this drive is a slot loader and works great-good luck
