Can someone give me a clue on how these are decoded, and perhaps help me identify this one?

I gather from looking at the label it's for an MK1 but the rest is unknown to me.

I know that. I am talking about which hardware options are supported. I understand that each recovery CD is different dependent on the model.

    Thanks

ETA I am speaking about the "DFQX4044LA" identifier...

That will work on all installed hardware except WWAN. WWAN requires a seperate download of the carrier software. There is one disc per Mk per OS regardless of installed OEM hardware.

These CD's hold ALL options available (GPS, WWAN or bluetooth). it auto-senses and installs as needed.

Only scenario I've seen is when I used my Win 7 Pro recovery DVD on my CF-31, for some reason it didn't install the GOBI 2000 stuff.

    Thanks

I've had the recovery CD's install the WWAN card DRIVER ONLY, but as you said, the software is carrier dependent, which would have to be loaded manually. Unless it's a GOBI, then as I've just said, it didn't even find the driver :(

That's nice. I wasn't aware it was a "one cd fits all" sort of arrangement. Thank you so much for the information. I now have a recovery CD for my CF-30, huzzah!
