    Hello Everyone!!

    Im here again!

    I have a CF-30F3SAXAM toughbook.

I would like to buy its desktop port replicator, I guess that its part number is CF-VEB272A2W.

Would you suggest me where to buy it? and what would be a good price for it?

    Thank you very much

check out ebay, some are available that will fit the cf-29,that may also fit the cf-30, the CF-VEB272AW might work as you'll see that the A2W model will go for around 180-200+ dollars. I'm not sure if there are any major differences between the models, you can go to the panny website and look at the pictures on the back of these units to see if there are any obvious differences. I have picked up some off ebay for 10-40 dollars + S&H. there may be more usb ports on the A2W model but I couldn't find much if any difference by looking at pictures on the web,but boy is there a difference in price! maybe some of the MOD SQUAD can tell you a little more here, anyway welcome to the forum, sounds like you're starting out with a good toughbook........Driller

I have bought several from this outfit, they are new in the box and work well for all the cf-29 mark 4's and 5's. I really do think they should work for the cf-30. As I stated earlier, in looking at any pictures I've been able to find either on panny website and others advertisements on the back of the replicator they appear to be the same, the difference may be only on the power port hookup which may be either where a dongle fits in ,one being the yellow plug and the other being like the cf-27 type plug which is black. you can still use the replicator just by plugging in your own power supply to its regular ac jack on your laptop. the shield may get in the way of the port replicator is the only problem. the cf-30 and cf-29 use same power battery charger. That unit is a lot cheaper than the guarenteed 200 dollar ones. I don't have a cf-30 unit to swear this, but I believe I'm correct here. hope this helps....Driller

Either of the ones mentioned in this thread WILL work with the CF-30. I have a CF-VEB272AW here and I do use it with my MK3. One main thing I needed was a parallel port and the dock provides that. One thing you have to be careful of when shopping for these docks is whether they have the power pigtail or not. If you get the pigtail you can use any panasonic yellow tip power adapter. Without it, you are limited to using a CF-27 compatible power adapter. Those pigtails are very hard to find. A much easier solution for me was to get a CF-27 (black tip) power adapter off eBay. Easier and cheaper. Just watch out for the amp rating. The higher the better.

as a good rule of thumb, the cf-30 will work on the cf-27 and the cf-29 docks, but the 29 will not work on the 30 dock

Hi TBtech29! Thank you very much for your answer!!

I have in front of me the desktop port replicator model CF-VEB272A (for the CF27) as recommended above I bought one for my CF-30.

I have a couple of small problems:
    1) The desktop port replicator DC plug does not match my CF-30 AC adapter's one.
    2) The current in the tech information of the replicator is 15.6v 3.85A, and my laptop AC adapter is: 15.6 5A.
If I plug in the replicator the adapter that fits (3.85A) this current will probably not be enough for my laptop... But if I make an adapter and plug my laptop ac adapter (5A) I can probably damage my replicator...

    Any ideas?? suggestions??? comments???
    Thank you very much
    Alex

You will not damage your replicator. It will only take as much current as it needs.

    This setup will work fine.
