So with my newly installed copy of XP, my hotkeys decided to take a hike. I have no unknown devices and all the drivers are installed, as far as the DM is concerned. Still the hotkeys refuse to work. My theory is that XP installed some ty generic driver that works well enough for windows to give the ok, but not be able to use the hotkeys.
Anyone know what the name of the hotkeys is? Windows Seven recognizes it as "Panasonic Hotkey Manager", but XP has always been a bit shifty.
I just want to find it and shove thr drivers down its throat.
Cheers

Thats a tough one to live without though
Screen brightness option being the most important -
^ Brightness works. But nothing else. Sound and all that doesnt respond at all. Might have buggered something up. I wasnt at my best when I reinstalled this machine.

Which toughbook are you having the problem with?
-
CF-28 MKII, the one in my sig. I need to have it running at 100% cause i have some modding plans for it.
Edit: Probably gonna give this machine to me mam. I'm getting a CF-18 to replace it. -
Do you have all these? Granted this is from a CF-29 L SP2.
These are the files from the Util folder on the C:

I'm pretty sure i do. Dont have the machine with me atm. I'm on me mobile.
But i'll double check when i can. -
I'll drop you a tidbit in your email. Seems like I did it before when a CF-28 wasn't acting right.
Good luck,

Panasonic Support Canada - Software, Drivers and Firmware
Enter Windows XP in the Operating System entry and CF28P in the Model Number entry. It will call up all the files that work with the Mk2 CF-28 (and others, as well; unlike the Jp site).
I have no idea why the Japan support site doesn't show the Mk2 (only MK3), but the Canadian site comes to the rescue here.

Oh, bugger... Its CF-28PBJGZEM. Sorry, mate.

P = Mk 2 Pentium III-M LV 800 MHz
B = 12.1" SVGA Touch Screen w/Std Keyboard
J = 30GB HDD - 256MB RAM
G = Floppy Disk Drive - Modem - Ethernet
Z = No Integrated Options (GPS, WLAN, WWAN, eyc.)
E = Windows 98 SE
M = North America distribution
Obviously, when searching for correct Panasonic files (see previous posting) you would search for "XP" instead of the originally-installed Win98SE. -
That was the site I got my drivers from. My problem is that even if i buggered something up, i cant repair it cause the hotkeys don't show up in device manager. ergo, i cant remove and reinstall the drivers. i'm leaning towards a complete format and reinstall of the machine cause the hotkeys did work on my last install.

On a sidenote: I don't know who Jeff D. is, but he sent me some drivers. Ta! I'll install it this instant.
PS: I dunno why, but your email showed up as spam. Seems my spam filter has become slightly overzealous. I've taught it a lesson now. -
