Hello All ! I installed XP pro SP3 on my "New to Me", "Digitizer" CF-18DDAZXMM. It came with no operating system and wiped hard drive. I work daily with a touchscreen CF-18 as part of a diagnostinc package and am familiar with its operation and functions. I am however a total "NOOB" at driver installation. After four hard drive wipes and as many driver reinstallations, I have learned to grind my teeth and swear simultaneously. I have read and reread the "CF-18 Drivers" thread(s) and become more confused the more I read. Should I be installing the Tablet version "Tablet Buttons Driver" or XP Pro version "Hotkey Plus Driver"? Tablet version"Touch Pad Driver" or XP Pro version "Touch Pad Driver/Touchscreen Driver"? What driver would be the "Digitizer" screen driverand how would the "Diditizer" screen be listed in the device manager? What driver would be the "Wacom" driver? The best results I have obtained so far have been all functions working except digitizer screen with correct stylus. At one point during my whirlwind of driver "Poke and Hope" installation, the curser would respond for a few moments just before the Windows Welcome screen fully loaded and would also respond just before the blank screen at shut down. I assume from this that the stylus and screen are hardware functional and that I have a driver or sorftware concern.Sorry for such a long post and so many questions! Any help with the digitizer vs touchscreen drivers would be greatly appreciated Thanks !

Your best bet would be to find a restore disc for a Mk2 digitizer. Unfortunately, I think they are unavailable. Next choice would be XP Pro and the Tablet version drivers. Google "convert xp to tablet". Absent a restore disc, that would get you closest to original configuration.

Thanks for the reply Glen. I have already downloaded all of the "Tablet" and "Touchscreen" drivers onto a thumb drive. So are you saying that I should install all and only the "Tablet Version" drivers with XP Pro ?

Just remember no serial port on the digitizer, and go with the wacom drivers for your touch screen. Here are some resources for you to read and they should help you. The restore disks are very hard to find. I have only ever seen one and it was for a Mk5.

ADOR, thanks for the reply and links. I think the Wacom link is what I am needing for the digitizer driver. When I select all available drivers for my model with XP tablet operating system, there is no driver called "Hotkey Plus". Would that possibly be called "Tablet Buttons Driver"? I'm starting to suspect that the front buttons are referred to as "Tablet Buttons" on the digitizer and that those exact same buttons are referred to as "Hotkey Plus" on the touchscreen. Is that correct?

UPDATE!! Started with wiped drive (5th time), Installed only "Tablet" drivers in the proper sequence, substituting "Tablet" drivers for "Hotkey" drivers. FAIL. Wipe and repeat. FAIL. Wiped and installed only "XP Pro" drivers with the exception of "Tablet" version "Touchpad" driver instead of "XP Pro" version "Touchpad/Touchscreen" driver. All functions working except Digitizer with stylus. Installed recommended "New" Wacom driver. WIN !!!!!
Everything working PERFECTLY !! Thanks for the help !!
