I have a few cf-28S's P's and M's with dim screens, from my experience (which isn't very much) I would lean towards them having bad inverters. Would I be correct in this assumption or do ya'll have to teach me something else that I didn't know about toughbooks. I'm sure most of you could do that anyway....effortlessly.

    Hi Daniel,

Its been my experience that on the 28's the lamps are just very old and worn.
They have many, many hours on them, plus they look dim to me now that I've
    gotten used to 29's.
I have only been lucky one time on recapping the inverter and that fixed only that one unit.
The rest (3 ) I've had to change the lamps, not real easy.
But can be done with care.

To be sure, You could put a working inverter from a known brite unit to test with.

    Hope that helps.
