    Hello,

I own CF-U1 and would kindly ask a question for owners CF-U1 and CF-19 Toughbook.

My question is does stylus used in touch screen version of CF-19 is cross compatible with CF-U1?

Will it (CF-19) fit into build in (CF-U1) stylus slot?

    Regards

Welcome to the Panasonic Toughbook forum

I don't own a U1 but most Toughbook resellers sell the stylus as fitting the 18, 19, 30 and U1. Someone here later on should be able to tell you for sure

I haven't measured them, but I have swapped them before. I got several 19/U1's.

The size of the digitizer pen is the same basic size, but the little nook on the end is longer not making it fully seat into as touch screen storage slot on the 18/19 touch only models.

I have never seen a digitizer U1, think they are all touch.

Late model CF19's use the small "nook" as well

Thank You very much for answers, I appreciate Your contribution a lot.

I read that sellers inform they could be used, but i'm only interested will it fit in that nice side pocket.
    I found description on touch pen "Toughbook CF-19 / CF-18 / CF-U1 (CF-VNP003U)"

Claim that it work, means actually nothing on touch screen because right now now i'm using "tactical pen" and ball point precision is perfect, but scratches are getting filled with ink and i have to clean it with alcohol every couple days and that's make be for look out for replacement that i could stuff inside.

I will order, when it arrive i will post result for future generation :)

    Regards

I thought they did but I wasn't sure. The Mk5 touch only is the newest one I have.

Don't know where you are at but I have seen lots of the standard pens cheap on ebay. The CF-18 uses the same pen the 19 does. The same basic pen I have seen some just a tad longer were used on the CF-74 models and stored under neath. the touch 30 models had a pen similar.

I'm from Europe and CF-U1 are not popular here so my only way is ordering online.
Stylus is cheap, i wanted even to buy used (it's not a problem to me) but shipping from US is couple times more than stylus itself :).

I will give try to buy a Chines clone just because of free shipping.

6 bucks for lanyard, stylus and shipping seems worth of try (still less than just shipping genuine).
I know not to buy rubber dust covers for toughbook, but stylus looks so simple, just mold with plastic... i hope make it right size...

If it fit i will be more than happy.

I will definitely post here picture showing You how it ended.
Maybe will be warning for others not to follow my patch!
    :)

Yes 6 bucks is a very good price shipped. It would cost me that just to ship it to you from USA.

I'm back, because i like to make closure in topic i create to let other users find answer for title question.
Waited long and now I got replacement touch stylus from china dedicated for CF-19 and it fit CF-U1, latch in place, tested, working.

    I attach pictures.

Could You tell me is it looks like genuine (i never own a genuine so i can't compare it visualy )?

Really it's hard to tell since if it's OEM or not . They are so good at copying items like this. But it does look like it.

If it's not OEM it looks like a very good copy.
