Greetings, forum (and CF-U1) noob here.
Does the CF-U1 use the same Sierra Wireless card as the CF-19? I ask because cards listed for the CF-19 are cheap on eBay, but for CF-U1...nonexistent. I didn't read the fine print very well and bought a CF-U1 that is sans WWAN.
Thanks!
(I tried a forum search but one of the members has all his different toughbooks listed in the signature, and it really clogs the results.)

Could you post your full model #...this will give us a better idea of what you have. Try using Google search...type in what you are looking for and put this on the end of it site:forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic -
I did a site-specific search with Google as suggested. But I tried searching with a string something like "CF-U1 CF-19 same Gobi2000 card". Anything with the model numbers will report a result on just about everything with those models in the signature. So I decided I would just ask. -
I have been looking at this too. Just so i could use the GPS in the secondary units i have. I am under the impression that the U1 has a daughterboard that is needed to fit the gobi card that is not there on standard non gobi models. I havent had my unit. apart yet to confirm this.

Someone else was asking about this a couple weeks ago and Rob said what you just said...also Rob said it would cost a lot for that board.
Edit: I just checked Robs post and its not here so will check toughbooktalk and see if its there -
Yes,
ALL GOBI CARDS FOR ALL TOUGHBOOKS ARE THE SAMe!
Does the CF-19 and CF-U1 use the same GOBI2000 card?
