Hello,
In order to use a Dual M.2 SATA Adapter the laptop has to support Port Multiplier:

Startech says:
Does someone know, if the CF-53 MK1 supports Port Multiplier?

Try booting live linux
Do a full hardware report. I think the command would be dmseg in terminal? I am not 100% sure.
Find what sata controller is being used in the report from dmesg.
Search for specs of that controller on Google.
I don't have a CF 53, so I can't. -
dmesg | grep multip -i
[ 1.864191] i8042: Detected active multiplexing controller, rev 1.0
sudo lshw # seen below

Thank you,
I get a "detected active multiplexing controller".
Does that mean, I can buy this Startech Dual M.2 SATA Adapter, throw out my SSD, insert the Adapter with its two M.2 SSDs, and be able to boot from both SSDs?
I would like to have a specialized laptop with a lot of Operating Systems, currently I am limited to 4 primary partitions.
With this adapter, can I use 8 primary partitions then, with only occupying one SATA connector?
(And No, no Virtual Machine, already tried, I cannot flash the controllers, only from native OS)
Issuing lspci | grep SATA gets me:
Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset

Doesnt work on the CF-53 MK1, no port multiplier.
