I went to hook up a LAN this morning and no go. Marvell is not anywhere to find. Loaded the driver from Panny. Follow the setup Wizard and it gets about 75% done and says "install aborted setup not complete" Can't figure out why? Also, how the heck can I just simply loose it? Nothing is showing up under my Network Devices. Any suggestions......

    Toyo,
Is the Marvell Yukon chipset showing up in Device Manager?

When I go to the setup.exe the Marvell setup wizard starts fine. It gets almost finished then it says it's aborted. Something is blocking it.

    Toyo,
I don't want to shut this machine down right now. Is it/can it be enabled in BIOS?

Can you try a System Restore back to when it was working?

If that works, turn off automatic Windows updates and then check them manually - it could be a mis-identified driver update.

There again, it could just be a registry glitch..

    Toyo,
I hate to suggest this but, have you tried opening up the install new hardware wizard in the control panel and manually forcing the thing to install. Also, do you have the DMI Viewer installed? Look for the slot there. There is another Panasonic PC Information Viewer app. on the driver download sites which is not the same as the DMI, it lets you look at the hardware in a slightly different way.
Finally, there is a driver called "wireless connection disable utility for plugging in a lan cable" on the Panasonic.ca download site. Tres interesant, non? Remind me, you aren't one of those "upgrade?" to Vista types are you?

Well, I wasn't getting much response with my problem, so I figured I must fix this on my own. Thanks to CAP for his suggestions to get me going. Anyway, I tried loading the driver I bet 10 times. Everytime it would abort. I got to thinking it felt like the hardware was not there for the driver to find. I removed all the power, battery. Removed the back cover of the computer and found the connector from the LAN plug to the board. It's a very short, gold colored cable. I unplugged it from the board, put everything back together and the crapped my pants....

It started up with a System Repair screen. I ran it thru the program, it did not find any problems thank god. It rebooted and started up correctly. Went to device manager and the Marvell was there! Ran the driver setup again and it went thru. I have not tried plugging it in yet since I dont have a LAN line in my van! I am pretty sure it's going to work since all is showing proper function.

Maybe this can help someone in the future. I am not sure if it was removing all power, or unplugging, plugging back in the card?

Toyo... While reading this I was thinking that the back had been opened and something as left UNDONE... But you say that it WAS hooked up and then you unhooked it? That doesn't make sense for some reason....

TB, the only time I have seen anybody but Panasonic open this computer was when I was at Buytough.com I watched them add the extra RAM when I bought it. They must have put the Verizon card in it before that since I didnt see him do it. I could not tell for sure if that little white plug was in all the way. If I had to bet I would say it was. I simply unplugged it, inspected it, and plugged it back in. My heart was racing a 100 MPH while I had this thing open! I know it's a daily thing for you, but I had no idea what I was doing :)

I laid all my screws, and covers out in order, made sure I didnt touch anything I wasnt supposee to. It may have been by simply removing all the power from it?

I did try it when I got home. It does work, but for some reason it is showing only 1.0 Mbps in the properties, but when I tested it at Speedtest.net I got 6200 Down, and 580 Up.

I am just so glad it's working. I did not want to send it off for repairs. Not having my TB would be very rough!!!

My guess is that it wasn't seated correctly. It may have looked like it was plugged in all the way, but I am betting it wasn't. I don't see removing all power sources as a remedy but have seen stranger things happen. Im a very happy you have it working now!

I can think of two possibilities. The first has already been mentioned with an issue with the plug not fully seated or not making good contact (slight terminal corrosion, etc). The second possibility is that the system hiccuped and lost the NIC. When you remove power, it forces the BIOS to do a full hardware scan instead of an abbreviated one and it may have reacquired it then.

Wyrm73, Pardon my ignorance. What is the NIC? Your assumption is what I feel happened. After I applied all the power back to the unit it did some I have never seen before. But, I guess we will never know.

Great, now it loaded a driver for something called 6to4. I googled it and it does not seem to be anything I would need. I disabled it at this point.
