What slot ? It has a modem and 10/100 card. I did not see any thing in the hidden pci slot, under the hard drive.

Well, yours didn't come with a RIM wireless modem from Panasonic (Based on your model number), but somebody could have added it.

I'd take a stab at the video card drivers next, or the modem.

I really don't know much about the 28s, but I had that same thing going on when trying to use the pcmcia slots in my 29. I'd try to insert the card and the slot wouldn't recognize it. When I checked the device manager, I'd have a yellow question mark by the pcmcia device that I had tried the card in. Finally loaded the drivers correctly and everything was ok.

I think it was Modly that told me how to do it correctly. The heavy hitters will be checking in later tonight and they will have your answer.

Well... One of two things is going on here... Either one of your mini-pci cards is not what it seems... And the driver is not loaded.... Or you have something in the internal card slot. The easiest way to check is to go into your BIOS (F2 at boot up) and go to the Advanced tab. See if there is a Cardbus 2 showing... If there is then you have an internal card that needs a driver. If you don't... Then you need to recheck the mini-pci cards to ensure they are what you think they are.

Let us know... Post back please. We need to figure this out.

I only have a CardBus Controller A that comes up under the advanced tab in the BIOS. However there is a Wireless Modem tab that comes up,could this be for the RIM wireless? Is there a driver for the RIM wireles?

Is there a BIOS setting for the RIM wireless in the BIOS? If not... No... You don't have it. You can also look under the battery to see if there is a RIM module.

But I have never seen the RIM module cause a ? in the Device Manager.

I'm suprised as well that a RIM module would cause a device unknown error. They work over serial, so they don't register as a device.

Nothing is in the internal slot you say? I'm stumped...

Take a picture of the insides, with the battery and hard drive removed (And the black plastic underneath each pulled up too) so I can see your hardware.
