I have a sudden issue on my CF-30. Well... Not really sudden... It started a few weeks ago. Every now and then I noticed that the volume ON/OFF Fn key wouldn't work. So I'd reboot and all would be okay. But I don't lose ALL the hotkeys. For instance, the brightness controls still work as do the battery check keys and keyboard lights.
Now just yesterday I lost the scroll availability on my touchpad. That is something I MUST have!
Has anyone else had this issue on their Toughbook? This happened after I recently reformatted using the Recovery Disks.

Well... I just reinstalled my touchpad driver and the scroll came back. We'll see for how long.
I guess I'll try to reinstall the hotkey drivers too to see if that fixes my other issues. I figured that would fix it but have never really had so many things go "fritzy" all of a sudden. -
Rick, Ihad lost my scroll function a couple of month ago. Except I just lost mine out of the blue??? Then one time I noticed that my Fn keys were not working after I had just rebooted. I had noticed that they were taken out of the start up items.
I had a hard time loading the scroller back on, but I got it working eventually. -
Yeah... My scroll functin works again... I haven't had an issue with that... BUt my hotkey drivers are at about 50%.... They only work half the time. Then I reboot and they are fine. Sometimes they work... But after being online, Explorer locks up and then I have no more hotkeys!

Rick, remember that those functions (especially for the FN buttons) are a hardware layer thing (only for toughbooks of coarse)... it could be drivers that are driving the functions... go into safe mode and uninstall all the crap drivers from device manager then reboot into safe mode again and re-install it all again, then reboot a 2nd time into normal mode and give it a shot.

Good advice Rob. I second that, it should work.
