    Hello,
First post so please excuse aif in wrong area. My sister has a Panasonc CF-19 Model CF-19FDW78CE running windows Vista Business, which she uses for her photography business, it had been playing up, not booting sometimes, blank screen, not getting to splash window etc, it gave an error 0251 checksum CMOS bad, so I thought I would be a help..for a change and change the cmos battery which I have done in the past with my own PC's and laptops....but a little knowledge is dangerous, having taken the back off and replaced the CMOS battery then put it back together (she was quite impressed) it no longer boots, it now requests a password which looks like BIOS security, my sister maintains she has never put a password in there or even seen that screen.
So not very popular now and have spent most of the night trying generic passwords, removing the new cmos battery, removing all the batteries, holding ctrl and f10, now I am stuck.
Are there motherboard jumpers I could move if so where and how, would appreciate any help. Have tried registering with Panasonic but they are not accepting registrations. Better give her a call and let her know it's still broke.
    Thanks

No motherboard jumpers, and these models remember if a password is in place ,the bios battery removal changes nothing

In my experience the bios battery's will last for at least 8 years ,so the battery was not the issue ,and was unfortunately a bad guess on your part, the original problem will still be there, even if you could boot into windows

Time to send into a panasonic repair depot

Thank you for taking the time to reply, looks like I am going to be in the bad books for sometime, do I contact Panasonic directly via website or are there repair depot specific sites.
    Thanks
