Hey Guys and Girls...I am about to lose my mind! I have a CF-N10EWHDS that I have had a couple of years because I cannot figure out how to turn off the "Eco Mode" on.I recently installed all the correct drivers in the correct order and I still cannot figure it out. It has the light on where it says "Eco" on the front as well... This only allows the battery to charge to 80% so I can't really sell it like that and it drives me crazy to use it because there is something WRONG with it...Now I know what your thinking but trust me I could quit working on these any time I want to...I just don't want to yet ;-)
    Thanks in advance, Travis

Enter BIOS and set environment to Auto. I think it's in "High temperature" position now.

"This only allows the battery to charge to 80%"
    hmmm ...
this sounds like the same design as the parachute that opens on impact .

ya gotta wonder about some of the people that have to justify their paychecks .

It's a very good idea to charge battery to 80% instead of 100%. Very effective way to prolong it's lifespan.

No "enviroment" setting in the bios :-(

Exactly! I understand why the option is there but they should have made a Hardware switch instead of only software bing able to change the darn thing!!!

It's strange, but ok, search for compatible Economy mode(ECO) Setting Utility :)

P.S. Maybe it's a part of Power Plan Extension Utility

It's changed with software NOT in the BIOS.

On the older T,W and Y series you could change it in the bios. Springfield had got some T5's a few years ago that were used their whole life on ECO mode. Those batteries were still in perfect shape. I still have and use 3 of those batteries. I changed the dual core T5 that they are in to that mode and even after they sit for months they will work as they should when needed.

I tried that but I cannot get it to run at all. Not even in compatibility mode either...there is only the one program for XP and not one for W7...so now I am gonna have to wait for the Floppy disc I ordered to come in so I can install the third party driver that will let me install XP on it and then see if that app will work!

this is what you should have with the correct drivers installed.

CF-S10 and CF-N10 should use the same drivers.
Try the USA Win7 drivers for a CF-S10

And here is proof that they use the same drivers. They even use the same recovery disk.
