I don't see the Windows 7 downgrade mentioned on any of the current toughbooks on Panasonic's site. Have they EOL'd them and no longer selling them? Anyone know anything concrete?

Yes. Also, dirty and rough around the edges.

Could draw a reference about a computer being "bricked" with Windows 10 installed. Still marginally functional, but worthless, LOL.

    Windows 7 FTW!

LOL! The only thing Windows 10 is good at is ruining CPU performance. The best BIOS settings in the world are not enough to make it run well.

Same BIOS settings. Boot Windows 7, run test. Boot Windoze OS X, run test. Flush toilet. Reboot back to Windows 7. Profit! Numbers never lie. People do.

If points in a benchmark or FPS in a game are your ultimate goal keep beating that dead OS for all it's worth! For every person here complaining about Windows 10, there are literally thousands of happy users drinking the Windows 10 Koolaid. Me included! *gulp*

I do use Win10 on my work PC.
It works fine on that. BUT, I did a LOT of work tweaking the install to eliminate most of the crap.
It looks and works more like Win7 now.

My windows 10 installs have always give me some garbage about my system isn’t support or other stuff. My windows 8 and lower. I use windows 10 only on 3 computers: new 31 with almost everything but hazardous locations, my gaming rig, and my hated Compaq machine. (Compaq never actually cared but that sits in shelf with other unloved things like broken power adapters)

Got a MS reminder email just this morning that W7 support ends on Jan 14.
Soon as I post this I'm off to see if I can find a 'how to' guide on how to make W10 less ugly and awkward.
Guess it's time to install it on one of my TBs and try to get used to the hideous thing...
I suppose I'll have to put it on one of the newer ones and Linux the rest.

Try stay as long you can on old. The new is disgusting. What you need for Win 10 below. As well ask in the thread if needed http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...stallation-guide.781178/page-79#post-10935720

Huge blessing to all who contributed to make Win 10 a bit better than a puke festival

    Thanks, guys,
downloaded x86 and x64 iso's & burned them to discs last night.
Put the hdd from the CF-31 I bought fro Russia in my spare 52 Mk1 caddy and installing x64 - hope I hate it less than I did W8.

If you use things like StartIsBack and AeroGlass it is aesthetically pleasing. The default UI is not as atrocious as W8 (which is absolutely dreadful), but those two apps will make it aesthetically tolerable. It will not perform as well as W7 does. If you run benchmarks, you will notice almost all of them are lower because W10 is so bloated and bogged down with useless rubbish that sucks up CPU clock cycles. (Unless your Windows 7 install was old and cluttered, in which case it will start out feeling as if it is snappier as a clean OS installation, for that reason alone.)

I think Microsoft will have to make Windows 11. Just to let all Win10 haters an opportunity to migrate to the "last old good OS" (it will be Win10 of course) and hate the buggy and awful latest Win11 :)))

Microsoft should make a brand new Win 7 Version 2. Exactly equal as the old :) But the Version Numbers doesn’t really matter. Put whatever numbers @Mr. Fox :bigyes:

Now that's a good one...but as we all know some how they would mess that up too. What I cannot understand is they say Microsoft has the smartest people working for them but they can't get W10 right ? Every update /fix brings more bugs and then more updates to fix them bugs and so on
