Hi,
I've installed on my CF-19FHGAXNT the card Ericsson F5521GW/HP HS2340 and I've set the dip switch as shown here.
Windows (XP SP3) recognize the new device and right install the driver for the
following device:
- HP hs2340 HSPA+ Mobile Broadband module Data Modem
- HP hs2340 HSPA+ Mobile Broadband module Modem
- HP hs2340 HSPA+ Mobile Broadband module device management(COM17)
- HP hs2340 HSPA+ Mobile Broadband module device management(COM9)
but the driver for the HP hs2340 HSPA+ Mobile Broadband module network adpter is not working (error 39 Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing)
Can someone help me?
Thank you,
-
A card from a HP laptop will not work. Best bet is to get a card from a Panasonic laptop.

It can be from a Lenovo, btdt. Do a search on my posts. It only requires modding of the panasonic drivers .inf -files to detect the lenovo card as compatible

Sorry but h ere it's written that the CF-19 can be equipped with F5521gw, why it should not work then?
If I try to connect with dial up connection (windows xp) I get an error 734 "The PPP Link Control Protocol Was Terminated", but the led of UMTS turns on. -
PID_3A1D...That card is from a HP.
It won't work with a different brand laptop than it was sold with....The "unlocked" thing is a scam...
The F5521gw and Gobi cards MUST have the software from the same manufacturer that the card originally came in....In your case, that would be HP.
The HP software will not work on anything but a HP. The Panasonic software won't work on anything but a Panasonic.
One or two members managed to get an off brand card to work...The other 98% fail.
A big part of the problem is misunderstanding of how these modems work...
They are universal in that they will work on any telecom carrier. How they do this is that upon EVERY boot up of your computer, the software package reflashes the modem ( F5521gw or Gobi) to the carrier you use.( Verizon, ATT etc..)..
Any firmware flash is complicated..It checks for the proper card, model and version...It then checks for proper laptop..Third it checks for proper operating system...If those 3 things are correct, THEN it flashes the modem to your carrier. Then the laptop continues to boot.
Saying it's a F5521gw and it should work is like saying well it's a Ford pickup part so it should work in any Ford pickup. It's just not that simple.
The best/only solution is spend the money on the CORRECT part from a Toughbook...Do NOT buy this from any China seller...
Gobi2000 from used Toughbooks are selling for $30.00..It is not worth saving the $30 to hammer a square peg into a round hole..UNCNDL1 and toughasnails like this. -

Ok thank you.
I will try to buy a new card, can you advise me to buy a right card that can work without problem on cf-19 with windows xp? -
I've found this card, can you confirm me that card is working on my CF-19 without problem with drivers (where I can find it?) and it's work's on any 3G operator?
-
Don't buy one from China..
this is cheaper, US seller and 14 day money back..

I've bought and installed that card.
The dip switch is
OFF
ON
ON
OFF
Windows recognize the new card as "USB Device" with the following code:
VID_04DA&PID_250C
I try to install this software and driver that I found here:
Gobi Device not found.
Is that driver correct? Or where can I find the right driver?
Thank you -
Is the wireless utility software installed?
Is it enabled?
Is the wireless mechanical switch on?
I found this elsewhere.
Switch 1 = ON
Switch 2 = ON
Switch 3 = OFF
Switch 4 = OFF
Requires 2.0L15 BIOS

And to answer the next question....

Also the led is turned on.
The bios version is V2.00L13 as shown in first message. I have to update? Where I can found the right bios? -
I answered before you asked the question.
see link. above -
Yes, I have seen later my post.
Other two question:
- I have read that there are some bios that are for windows XP and other for windows 7. I have windows XP and I can't reinstall it (I have some installed software without installation cd). This bios is compatible with XP and can I update without need to reinstall XP?
- How I can update? I've search other topic but I don't find. I have seen that in the zip file there are one batch file and two executable, I have to run the batch file in Windows?
-
yes windows xp will work with the newer bios.
.Make a dos boot disk
boot to dos and run the bios file with the bat extension -
It works!
I've update bios to the 2.0L15 version, set the dip switch as shown up but neither bios and windows recognize it.
So I set dip switch 0110, bios and windows recognized it. I used driver found from panasonic site and they works.
I must use "connection manager" of windows xp because other software don't recognized the card or don't find 3G net.
Thank you for your support -
I have successfully installed the HP card into a CF-19 MK5 A/B with Windows 7(Will work on W10 too). I was facing the same issues that using the supplied driver installation solutions have been giving. The auto driver tools however are only checking the motherboard/identity of the computer and will automatically cancel the installation regardless, however the Drivers themselves are completely capable of running the hardware on this laptop.
What I did is I used Snappy Driver Installer. This is a Driver pack solution I use at my computer repair business, I tried it as a last resort and to my astonishment it went without a hitch. When you run the tool you will need to check mark an option towards the bottom left to show (Not installed) devices. Simply look for your wan chip to show up (HP hs2340 HSPA+ in my case) and check mark the box, then hit install. After it unpacks the drivers (This tool stores all drivers for most brands locally in 7z files) it automatically installs the drivers themselves bypassing the OEM Installers. After the initial driver installed it found about 5 more sub-drivers for protocols and etc, simply check those new results and install them just the same.
After installing via Snappy Driver Installer, I connected to my local WAN network using an AT&T Sim card, low and behold I was able to make this post with WiFi/Ethernet disabled.

This tool is a life saver, though I will not recommend using it to update other drivers for the Panasonic, best to stick with the OEM provided ones (I had a nightmare of bad driver installs using auto updaters on the CF-19)diagnosticbox likes this. -
5 points for the Snappy Driver Installer.
Bravo..Great tip. -
Sorry about bumping an older thread, but seeing as this was the top Google result for this particular problem I felt obligated to post the resolution regardless.diagnosticbox and Shawn like this. -
