    Greetings!

I searched around some, but couldn't find a straight answer. I was thinking about putting an SSD into the Express Card Slot next to the PCMCIA and CDROM. Has anyone tried this? If so how fast would it be? Faster then SATA? Or is this card on the USB bus like the WWAN card is?

    Thanks!

Pretty sure the PCMCIA and Expresscard slots are fully functional and not crippled like the WWAN slot.

Don't know about speed. I don't recall anyone here trying it yet.

Any config with SSD has a sense ONLY if this SSD is a system (OS) disk.
CF-30 can't boot from express card, so you don't get any speed boost.
You may want to install 2.5" hybrid HDD (SSD+HDD in one case) if you need very large capacity. Or 2.5" SSD only.
If you still want second drive - install express card to USB 3.0 adapter and mSATA SSD with USB 3.0 case. Or USB 3.0 flash drive :)

    One more idea
