    Hello All,

I have of course searched the forum and the sticky threads concerning drivers however....

My apologies if this information is out there all ready. If so I have not been able to find it. I just purchased an FZ-G1aahrflm. Great unit! seems to be functioning well. However, this unit is entirely new to me. The last toughbook I have been running is a CF-18. This is also my first tablet of any sort excluding the cf-18...if you could really call it that. At any rate the unit has a fresh install of windows 10 and all is dandy. However I am not sure if the Panasonic specific drivers are installed as the A1 key is unresponsive and A2 turns on the bar code reader. Its my understanding that the A1 should be a Panasonic menu of some sort. and both are able to be reprogramed. With a long press I have no response...this leadds me to believe their are missing toughpad specific drivers. I am also new to windows 10 having resisted leaving XP as long as possible so I am have difficulty navigating to find my hardware list to see if there are missing drivers.

With all of that as context...my question: Does it sound like I am missing drivers.

    Thank you for any assistance.

Right click the start button, left click computer management, left click Device Management should get you where you want.

Thanks. Feeling like an idiot trying to navigate windows 10. Also running into issues on the driver sites finding my model and drivers for 10 pro 64 bit 1903. I will get there. Thanks for the guidance!

Best of luck, someone else may be able to point you in the right direction for your drivers.

Might need to use a few Win 8 drivers.
Otherwise you could install Win7 with all the drivers then upgrade to Win 10.

Sometimes the button functions are hard coded into the BIOS.
I have that problem on my CF-D1. Drivers don't make any difference on it.

Thanks Shawn. I don't have any OS disks or the like so I will try to deal with the 10 and this way I have a functioning unit. I have another on the way that I was planning on trying Linux...but there will be a learning curve there as well as the last Linux OS I played with was RedHat 16 or so years ago. lol! In the mean time I will try to deduce which drivers I need to download. I have been trying to figure out what I need from here:

Looks interesting. I may give that a go. Do you know off hand if it recognizes the touch screen right out of the gate?

Makes sense. Thanks. On another note. This unit came with the high corners for use with the accessories which add thickness and the hand strap. I have been searching online high and low for the short standard corners. Do you have any? Though I would ask before going new through Heartland.

I'm too lazy to reboot my FZ-G1, but my A2 button turns on a barcode reader too (and it's ok for me because it's bright and works as a flashlight :)) ) and my A1 button is programmed as a Concealed mode switch in BIOS. But if you haven't programmed A1 like that - you can change it's action through settings below.

Also I can assure you Win10 is wonderful OS for FZ-G1 :))

    Good
To know. Yes I don't have that first menu that I know of.. it's a panasonic dashboard menu I believe and part of one of the needed drivers. And buttons are not a tab on the windows settings GSM page for me...I again assume it has to do with my missing drivers The only driver I have successfully installed so far is the chip set. ...at least I think it installed.. and thermal module driver which was one of the unknowns. I remember installing drivers on all my past toughbook being more clearly identifiable as being installed. Also the fact that it was a windows 7 or 8 machine now with a slap install of 10 by the last owner. Will be back to trouble shooting again this eve.

Ok. I have been using this site http://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/itn/index.html
Where I can see the 8.1 x64 drivers. I collect them and select to download. I get approximately 24 separate windows that open all at the same time. For the life of me I can have not been able to navigate them in Windows 10 (new to me) on this little screen.

I was planning on trying a "bundle" from this source http://help.panasonic.ca/english/support/sandd/softwarequery.asp
However 8.1 x64 is not on the list. So I guess I will try 8 allthough there is a 7 x64 option. Taking a shot in the dark.

    http://help.panasonic.ca/english/support/sandd/softwareResults.asp

    I swear I have never had such a hard time installing drivers...and I have installed them on CF-25s, 27s, 28s, 29s, 18s etc...

I guess I have never tried installing older drivers on a newer OS.

I assume that the windows 10 upgrade security drivers are not part of the bundle and I still need to install those?

    thanks

Thank again for your assistance. I picked up two of these units at auction. Thanks to you I have both up and running and Im very satisfied with their performance. One of them I will keep running windows 10 however the other I think I may try running linux or Sysytem 76 pop.

    Hey Shawn,

Hope you are well. Have you or do you know of anyone running Linux or POP on the FZ-G1? I have not seen any mention on threads so far. Both of my units are up and running Win10 thanks to you guys. But Im thinking about playing around with Ubuntu or POP on my lab rat FZG1.
