The cover plate (gray) 5 screws ummm maybe four covers it up.
Unlatch the fpc for the smartcard reader....carefully! It's soldered to the mobo. The brown tabs come straight up a mill or so.

PARTIAL DISASSEMBLY OF FZ-Q1 TO CHANGE BATTERY OR WHATEVER:
UNPLUG POWER CABLE.
REMOVE FOUR BLACK SCREWS IN THE CORNERS.
REMOVE ONE SCREW INSIDE THE SMART-CARD DOOR.
(DID YOU KNOW SIM CARDS ARE CONSIDERED TO BE SMART-CARDS?) IN THIS CASE WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE FULL SIZE SMART-CARD.
TIP IT INTO YOUR LAP AND REMOVE TWO BOTTOM SILVER SCREWS.
DISREGARD THE TWO SCREWS HOLDING THE DOCKING ASSEMBLY FOR NOW.
WITH A PLASTIC TOOL (FRUIT PEELER/CELL PHONE TOOL) START WORKING AROUND THE EDGE SEPARATING THE CLAM SHELL. I FOUND STARTING ON THE SIDE OPPOSITE THE DOCK CONNECTOR TO BE EASIEST.
TO NOT LOSE WHAT YOU GAIN HERE A FOLDED CLOTH OR PAPER TOWEL WORKS TO KEEP THE CRACK FROM SNAPPING SHUT AGAIN. CORNERS ARE THE WORST...BUT NOT TOO BAD JUST GO SLOW AND GET DONE QUICKER.
THE SMART-CARD DOOR AND POSSIBLY THE USB DOOR WILL FALL OUT DURING THIS PROCESS.
FINALLY IT WILL GIVE UP AND YOU CAN PICK UP THE DOOR THAT FELL ON THE FLOOR.
NOW YOU CAN PULL THE VERY UNUSUAL BATTERY...IN MY CASE IT STUCK A LITTLE BUT IT WAS JUST THE CORNER OF THE SPEAKER MODULE WEDGING IT IN A BIT.
RE-ASSEMBLY:
PUT THE DOORS WHERE THEY GO BUT HOLD OFF ON ON THE SMART-CARD DOOR UNTIL THE LID IS NEARLY TOGETHER. THE RUBBER HINGES ARE HELD IN PLACE BY THE SMART-CARD BOX.
I STARTED AT THE BOTTOM AND LINED UP THE TWO TABS THAT THE SILVER SCREWS GO THROUGH. THEN PRESSING IT DOWN, IT CLICKED INTO PLACE WITH A SHORT PAUSE TO LINE UP OUR FAVORITE SMART-CARD DOOR. THEN CLICK, CLICK, CLICK AND DONE!
RE-INSTALL SEVEN SCREWS TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT. NOTE: THE SMART-CARD DOOR SCREW WAS MISSING ON MY UNIT...IT'S A DIFFERENT SIZE THAN THE CORNER SCREWS. THE ORIGINAL MAY HAVE BEEN SILVER....I USED A BLACK ONE FROM MY STASH.

This was on a FZ Q2 but I bet it applies to a FZ Q1 also.
Just got it with w10 installed. brightness was wonky.
Dim in BIOS and ok brightness in w10.
I tried F keys which had zero effect.
w10 showed the slider at max brightness.
I was a bit baffled.
It appeared the w10 install was a generic install.
I have the factory recovery image so I installed it.
The brightness flickered several times during the install. After the install was done, the brightness was normal again, even in the bios screen.
I think the factory install changes brightness settings at the BIOS level while the generic install can't change those bios level settings. -
Q2 has wifi module soldered on, like a 3E does.
Blair, can you add Q2 to the title of this thread?
Thanks

Q2 camera test on W10.
Decent quality for a webcam.
-
Yes, the image quality is decent for a webcam, very little pixalation, the most notable is the 'EXIT' sign.
Considering that you are wearing an awesome tie-dyed t-shirt, rainbow frame glasses and have a 'KEEP IT REAL & REFRESHING' sign over your right shoulder, you look way too serious, almost like a mug shot or a passport photo.
I hope the day gives you something that makes you smile.UNCNDL1 and Michael AU like this. -

Place to get one what?
I don't understand what part you are looking for.
I do have an extra battery and some Q1 parts.
Also a complete (-touchscreen) Q1 with keyboard. -
