Well, after using my CF-28's and 19, I decided I just had to have a 29, but they are a bit pricey. I scored this one:

    Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 PENTIUM M 1.6GHz WIFI LAPTOP - eBay (item 220593074824 end time Apr-23-10 12:15:33 PDT)

It is bone stock with an 80 GB HDD and touchscreen, and it is the Hazardous version. Interesting this is that the BIOS shows 12,000 hours on it, but it is near mint in condition. Helluva deal and I'm ecstatic with it. Now I need to see if I'll spin the 19 or keep both. (For those keeping track, this is my 5th TB since I started with them in October 2009 - yeah, I'm hooked.)

Nice system at a nice price. And from Texas, too. :)

    GREAT SCORE!

Don't let the hours bother you... I know some will say watch out for the capacitors as they always wear... But some of the "mint" high hour CF-29s have been used in port replicators and the LCD was never used... So the LCD is super bright.

    You never know...

I ran the #s before I bid, so I knew what I was getting.

After looking this over, it appears to have been in a replicator since new - none of the connectors have marks on them, the screen is very bright, and all the port covers and doors were stuck closed. I'm super happy - hours does not matter to me.

my bios even shows 13,890 hours when i got it last week. ALL looks like new in Mint condition, running 2gb like a horse with win xp SP3.

so upset that DVD-RW can not work, i had to return the DVD RW, and the seller now is trying to make annoying thing, he refuses to refund me DVD-RW price, just he wants to refund DVD-CD_RW price which is $30 less than that.

what the heck some people are selling CF-29 on Ebay??? (not all, i mean)

he posted it with working DVD_RW, and the bidding price went up so much. Then now he refuses to refund that price, and asks me return, which he nows it will cost me $20 for returning.

they are hell on Ebay with that way.

Paypal is the heck some times. Last week, when I got the bad battery media bay, i opened the case and request returning the item, but suddenly Paypal closed my case on the seller's side without any explanation. Even if the battery was significantly not match the seller's description.

I confuse with Paypal many times, they work without responsibility.

I too got a new 1.6 CF-29 from the same seller on ebay unfortunately mine is an older MK4 CF-29LT4GZBM Hazardous environment TB with a whopping 21310 Accumulated Operating Hours. I am extremely happy with it though for it looks as if it was never used out in the field.

I bought my CF-29 from Rick with 36XX hours on the clock...so far so good...handles non-gaming tasks well...I am also pleasantly surprised at how good the audio quality is considering these are not gaming or media center machines

Ha ha, yeah, well I traded another computer for the 19, so it did not "cost" me anything. Good point though.
