Just finished my first upgrade on the cf29.
    PNY 1024MB PC2700 DDR 333MHz SODIMM Memory.
    WD 320GB 5400/8MB 2.5" Mobile PATA HD.

Memory no problem. HDD little problem with cloning. I usually use a SATA to USB toaster looking devise. Just plug in the new drive to the toaster and clone the drive using Acronis but I did not have a devise for the PATA HD. So I made a disk image to a usb drive then installed new HD then XP then Acronis and then used the recovery tool. This went well but it partitioned my new HD the same as my small old one so then downloaded EASEUS partision magic (great free simple software) and extended to the 320 GB.

Thanks for all the info on this site, made things very easy.

Next up is the internal bluetooth dongle and GPS.
